courtney picked me up from LAX after my red eye from tahiti. sitting in traffic she had heard on 99.9 fm that Man Man were playing in santa barbara. several hours later we're sittin at the bar at soho and the growlers are playin they're set. when they finish we get up real close to the stage. i see my friend Jenkins. Jenkins makes drums. they're playing his drums tonight. the crowd starts gettin pretty wild and we get pushed up these steps kinda onto the stage. nobody says nothin so we don't move. i don't care what sorta music your into i have a hard time imagining someone having a shitty time at a Man Man concert. the're just loud and raw and entertaining and they're sound sorta transcends genres. They're still touring the west coast (Seattle Sept. 8; Vancouver Sept. 9; Portland Sept. 10) so if you're in the area it'd be a bummer to miss it. They'll make you wanna put war paint on your face and scream while banging on drums- dane
